Our next pick takes us to our tomato plants. This gadget is the plants’ favorite, as the benefits of trellising are plentiful. Whether in the hoop house or outside in the garden, trellising allows tomatoes to thrive! Getting tomato plants off the ground gives each leaf extra sunlight and airflow, maximizes pollination, and minimizes pest exposure and soil-borne diseases. There are rain boots and there are mud boots, and a Texas gardener occasionally needs mud boots! The Space Pen – Our next pick has been a favorite for years and continues to prove its worth on the farm. Jeff started carrying a space pen when he was in grade school. Easy to carry in a pocket, he’s never without one because you never know when you need to write on something! These are great because they will write upside down, in wet conditions, and on any surface. And did we mention — pocket sized?!?
